Convention season is really heating up, and about now is the time manufacturers start to reveal details on their San Diego Comic Con exclusives. Mattel is kicking things off with a breakdown of their plans for the show.
In typical fashion, it seems Mattel will be going all out for San Diego Comic Con 2013 with a ton of exclusives and big reveals. If you're in the market for their convention exclusives, you should read their latest update on the show below.
2013 SDCC Preview: Five Days of Reveals 4/29-5/3

The holidays are nice, but we all know the real magic happens another very special time of the year… San Diego Comic-Con! Before you know it we’ll be heading into the excitement and sensory overload we know and love as SDCC, and this year we’re seriously amping up the anticipation…
There really is nothing that compares to SDCC… except maybe the chance to be one of the first to get your hands on a great new figure or vehicle from your favorite brands. So every weekday starting today and ending Friday, May 3rd, we’ll reveal two new products we’ll have available for sale at SDCC. That’s ten total, plus we’ll add one or two surprises later in May or June just to keep it all going. Make sure you check back every day this week so you don’t miss a single one!
SDCC Voucher Pre-sale Starts 6/4
If you’re lucky enough to attend SDCC and want to guarantee you’ll get the Mattel toys you want, we’ll have a voucher pre-sale starting 6/4 at 9 a.m. PT. There's nothing too revolutionary here if you've been following Mattel's SDCC plans for the past few years. Show attendees will be able to pre-order a voucher to pick up exclusives on-site with a little less hassle. And non-attendees will again be able to fight for scraps on MattyCollector.com after the show. Matty claims more details will be coming on that, so I'll update you when we get them.
For collectors in the southern California area, there's going to be a cool opportunity to see the exclusives in-person a few months earlier than the rest of us. That ought to be a fun experience on Free Comic Book Day for anyone that ventures out to The Comic Bug. I wish I wasn't 2,000 miles away!
I can't wait to see what Mattel pulls out of the bag with their aging Masters of the Universe Classics and DC Comics lines. There just aren't that many grand figures and ideas left to explore, so it's probably going to be a lot more creative and exciting, which is always a good thing. Just be sure to stick around this week as I discuss each of the big reveals.
